Peer’s aide received Rs 13 lakh

Srinagar, Nov 25: One person today deposed before the City Munsif here that one of the accomplices of the main accused in the Common Entrance Test- 2012 scam, former Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Exams (JKBOPEE) chairman, Mushtaq Ahmad Peer, received Rs 13 lakh from a candidate for getting selected to MBBS course.
One Bashir Ahmad Dar today deposed before the City Munsif that Farooq Ahmad Itoo C/O Infotech computers received Rs 15 lakh from relative of one Arshad for getting CET-2012 question papers.
Dar told the court that he heard Itoo talking to one Arshad Ahmad about the CET papers. “Arshad needed the paper for one of his relatives and deal was struck for Rs 13 lakh”, he told the court.
Dar deposed before the court that Arshad relative sold his land for Rs 13 lakh and gave Itoo a cheque of Rs 11 lakh and two lakh after Arshad’s relative’s name appeared the selected list of candidates.
It may be mentioned that Itoo is the main agent of Peer and has not been arrested so far.
Peer was arrested on Saturday and was remanded to 10 days police custody.
