JAMMU, Apr 28: The annual cultural festival of Central University of Jammu (CUJ) ‘Udaan – 2023’ organized under the aegis of the Office of Dean Students’ Welfare concluded with prize distribution ceremony by the Vice Chancellor Prof Sanjeev Jain in the University campus.
Resonating the theme ‘Dekho Apna Desh’, the scintillating festival showcased the rich cultural diversity and liberal inclusive environment of the University in synchronization with the vibrant ethos of Bharat.
The final rounds of the wide variety of events were conducted across multiple venues wherein students exhibited their talent by participating in thought-provoking poetry and slogan writing; singing and dance competitions; rangoli making, sketching and painting competitions; fashion show, photography and documentary competitions. A spectacular feature of day two was enthralling performances presented by the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
In his address, Prof Sanjeev Jain expressed satisfaction at the positive and exuberant participation of students in Udaan and hoped that their creative upsurge will further enhance their performance in academics and in life.
In Quiz, the first prize was bagged by Neha Kotwal and Nivedita from department of EVS; in Painting, Monika from Department of Education won first prize; in singing solo, Isha from Department of Maths won first prize; in Mime, group from Department of Social Work and in Stand-up comedy, Dindayal Madhukar from Department of Educational studies bagged first prize.
In Dance Solo, Shallu Sharma from Department of Economics; in Dance group, Diljeet and group won first prize from Department of Physics, in Mimicry, Rohan Singh from Department of Marketing; in Debate, Suraj Sharma from MCNM won first prize; in Slogan writing, Ritu Bhagat from Department of Education and in Poetry, Swastik from BTech Cyber Security bagged first prize.
The grand finale of Fashion Show was well received where first prize was bagged by Tania from HRM and OB and L Vankatesh from TTM won first prize. The mood of euphoria and celebration culminated with National Anthem.
