Govt must end prevailing bureaucratic rule in JK: Vakil

JAMMU, Apr 30: J&K Peoples Conference, senior vice president and former minister, Abdul Gani Vakil has said that Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference will always fight to ensure equitable development of all the regions of Jammu and Kashmir as it strengthens the bonds of unity and integrity of J&K which is the need of the hour.
While addressing the party workers’ convention at PC headquarters in Gandhi Nagar Jammu today Vakil said that even after lofty promises of deliverance, good governance, transparency and accountability are missing from the scene and the administration has totally failed on all fronts and is behaving like mute spectator to the problems of common man and in order to bridge this widening wedge between people and the administration GoI should hold Assembly elections as early as possible.
While addressing the gathering Abdul Gani Vakil urged the Government of India before holding assembly elections they must initiate confidence-building measures to regain trust and win back hearts of people which includes restoration of full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, release of political prisoners, regularise casual workers and daily wagers and announce employment package for unemployed youth of J&K.
Vakil said UT Government has assured many times recruitment drives but proved a white lie as nothing has been done in this regard. Govt of India must end the prevailing `Bureaucratic Raj; and allow the popular government to be elected without delay, Vakil added.
Besides others who addressed the meeting include, Mohan Lal Radha District president Jammu, Rattan Lal -Youth District president and general secretary Women’s Wing Renu Bala.
