Three held with heroin

JAMMU, May 2: Police claimed today that they have arrested three drug peddlers from Jammu District and recovered 13 grams of heroin from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that one drug peddler identified as Ranjit Singh of Simbal, Gadigarh, Jammu, was arrested with 3 grams of heroin during a surprise naka established at Mehmoodpur, Bishnah.
He has been booked in case FIR number 104/2023 Under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bishnah while further investigations are on, said the police spokesperson.
The entire operation was carried out by a team of Police Station Bishnah led by SDPO RS Pura, Nikhil Gogna, assisted by SHO Bishnah, Vikram Sharma.
Meanwhile, in another operation against the drug peddlers, a team of Police Post Gujjar Nagar led by SDPO North Sunil Kesar and assisted by SHO Peer Mitha, Inspector Mohammad Rashid and incharge Police Post Gujjar Nagar, PSI Ahsan Khan, rounded up two suspects near Jogi Gate and recovered from their possession 10 grams of heroin.
The accused have been identified as Mudassir Nazir Sheikh of Chareel, Banihal, Ramban, and Nadeem Ahmed of Nagbal, Ramban.
“They have been booked in case FIR number 24/2023 Under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Peer Mitha and further investigation started,” added the police spokesperson.
