JAMMU, May 3: The Somnath Mahadev Mandir, Jhajjar-Kotli, Jammu echoed with chanting of Vedic ‘shlokas’ (hymns) as the ‘Chadar Vidhi’ (anointment) ceremony of prominent Mahant Rajeshwar Giri took place today appointing him as Mahant of the temple.
The ceremony was attended by number of followers and Sadhu’s. Apart from other Sadhus, Mahant Rajesh Bittu, Executive President Sadhu Dharma Sthan Committee, was also present at the ceremony. He formally offered Chadar to Rajeshwar Giri prior to appointment ceremony that was held in the temple.
Speaking at the event, Mahant Rajesh Bittu conveyed his best wishes to newly appointed Mahant Giri and said that Sant Samaj believes that Mahant Giri will do his duties with full support from everyone who believes in him. “Whenever he needs us, we are there as we have to work together to make things happen,” he said and hoped that the new appointee will keep the values of Sant Samaj intact and serve the people accordingly.
At last Rajeshwar Giri Maharaj thanked everyone for believing in him and said that he will work whole heartedly for the betterment of temple and people and will remain true to his duties.
There were other dignitaries, including Mahant Rishi Van, Mahant Kanhaiya Saraswati, Mahant Mohan Giri, Mahant Shantigiri Maharaj, Mahant Raj Giri, Shyamanand Giri, Radhe Das and others who extended their best wishes to Mahant Rajashwar Giri.
