If AP forms Govt, will restore Old Pension Scheme: Manjit

*Will regularize all daily wagers within 60 days

JAMMU, May 4: Apni Party Provincial president, Jammu and former minister Manjit Singh has assured that if they form the next Govt in Jammu and Kashmir, the Apni Party will restore the Old Pension Scheme for all the Govt employees.
“It’s a long pending demand of the employees and officers in J&K Govt. Over 4.5 lakhs Govt employees and Gazetted Officers have been working in different sectors of J&K Govt and we support their genuine demand as they are the backbone of the society,” former minister said while addressing a trade union workers of Apni Party.
This meeting was organized by J&K President, Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi. Manjit Singh said that the Govt has not responded about the repeated demands and submission of memorandum to the Govt with regard to the Old Pension Scheme. If this Govt does nothing to address the issues of the employees, Apni Party is committed under the leadership of Syed Mohd Altaf Bukhari .”
“We are committed to restore the Old Pension Scheme in favour of all the permanent Govt employees and officers. Besides, we will also regularize all the daily wagers within 60 days of forming the next Govt in J&K,” Manjit claimed.
He said that the daily wagers were engaged by the previous Govts, and they were not regularized even as most of them have completed 20 to 25 years of services, and many have retired without getting any kind of benefit for their service from the Govt.
“Those lost their lives or body parts in PDD were also neglected and their next of kin were not considered in the Govt sector even as daily wagers to earn their livelihood,” he said.
He said that Apni Party will address unemployment by providing ample job opportunities in Govt as well as in private sectors.
“We will not allow the Industrial sectors to avoid engagement of local youths in skilled or unskilled jobs and go ahead with the non-local people. If they are using our land and resources, these industries shall be bound to provide jobs to the local youth,” he assretd.
Prominent among those who were present in the meeting include Provincial vice president, Ex-MLA Faqir Nath, additional general secretary Arun Chibber, Provincial secretary district president, Jammu urban, Dr Rohit Gupta, State Coordinator SC Wing, Bodh Raj Bhagat, State Vice President, OBC, Bhagat Ram, Abhay Bakaya, Vipul Bali, Pavneet Kour, Vikram Rathore and others.
