JAMMU, May 4: A meeting of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) was held at Jagti township under chairmanship of B K Raina ,today.
While speaking in the meeting president of AIMCCC, Desh Ratten Pandita said, that there are hundreds of people living at Jagti township and other camps, who could not get Government jobs and are highly qualified and some of them are diploma and degree holders. “We have demanded so many times that such people need immediate financial help so that they can run their own business and can save their families from starvation. We also request Government and Relief Organization that shops already constructed at Jagti township, be allotted to all those who were running their shops at old camps i.e. Mishriwalla camp, Purkhoo camp, Muthi 1st and Muthi 2nd, Nagrota camp etc and later on were shifted to Jagti township, now waiting for these shops since a long time”.
The meeting demanded that Relief Department must consider those people on priority who have been verified by CID that these people were running their shops at old camps before shifting to Jagti township and were also shopkeepers at Valley before migration. “We request Government to consider all deserved and needy people at the time of allotment so that people may not make hue and cry”. All other speakers who spoke on the occasion included P N Jalali. We demand Government to solve our problems” .He further said that all our flats in every block, are damaged and need immediate repairing but contractors and departments are nowhere on ground and people suffer badly.
