Enhance employees’ Medical Allowance to Rs 1000: NMC

JAMMU, May 4: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), president Subash Shastri today appealed to Lt. Governor of JK UT Manoj Sinha to enhance the Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month.
“Medical allowance in JK UT is Rs 300 per month for the last two decade as the prices of medicines and other medical related expenditure has increased to a large extent to medical allowance should also be increased at par with Central Govt.” Shastri said this while addressing a meeting of NMC activists here.
He, however, lauded the decision of JK UT Administration in releasing the instalment of DA due from January this year in favour of its employees and pensioners, described it as pro employees pensioners friendly decision.
Stressing the need in releasing of pending DA / DR of 18 months from the month of January 2020 to ending June 2021 Shastri also appealed the Prime Minister and Union Finance Minister to release the outstanding 3 DA installments arrear blocked while releasing the same to its employees and pensioners months ago.
He said that since the price index and inflation on rise day today which has made salaried class and pensioners to face hardship to manage their lively-hood.
