JAMMU, May 5: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today started digital house numbering in residential areas falling in the limits of the Urban Local Body.
Inaugurating the facility at Roop Nagar area, Mayor Rajinder Sharma said: “This system of house numbering will first of all shows the entity in which a particular residential house falls (Name of Corporation), area of location (Roop Nagar, Panjtirthi etc), Ward number, street number and then house number. This will give identification to each and every house. Moreover it will remove the deficiencies in present house numbering system.
JMC Councillor of Ward Number 62, Rekha Manhas and JMC Commissioner, Rahul Yadav were also present on the occasion.
“Similarly these digital door systems shall be installed in entire Jammu city,” Sharma said.
On benefits of such a system he said that just by clicking QR Code on ‘My Jammu’ App will show the location of a particular house in the digital house system thus helping for navigation of desired location.
“Also Safai Karamcharis can’t be told to send QR Code of houses they reached for their daily duties,” the Mayor continued adding: “Only a few corporations have such a facility” and Jammu has become one among them.
