People trust Azad, DPAP will sweep Chenab belt: Saroori

BANIHAL, May 5: In a move to reach out the people across the corners of Ramban and Banihal area, the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) today kick started the massive membership drive in Banihal under the presence of party Vice Chairman GM Saroori.
He was accompanied by party chief spokesperson Salman Nizami, District president Th Dharam Dhand, secretary Arun Singh Raju, Zonal vice president Fayaz Naik, Dr Asif Khanday, Munner Bhatt, Ilyas Banihali, Farooq Wani Block president, Ch Mohd Farooq, Asghar Rasool Bhat, Sheikh Shabir, Ayoub Naik and others.
Saroori stressed for the maximum reach by the party leaders during the membership drive and said that DPAP shall be the household name in the Union Territory. He said Party chief Ghulam Nabi Azad made tremendous efforts to build up the infrastructure of otherwise overlooked mountainous town when he was the Chief Minister.
He said while serving as Union Minister, Azad ensured good number of projects are sanctioned for Banihal like Degree College, hospital, district for Ramban, roads, Tehsils etc since it was lacking proper connectivity and attention from the successive regimes. In view of the progress and development ensured by Azad, DPAP is sure to sweep elections in Chenab region, Saroori claimed.
“Most of the projects were completed during Azad’s tenure while all the successive regimes ignored the Banihal,” he said while addressing a public meeting.
Chief spokesperson Salman Nizami said if the DPAP comes to power, we will ensure Banihal is developed as the model town of entire UT since it is at the center and shall remain as transition point from economic and social point of view. He said that the support and participation of the people in Azad’s rally in Banihal was so commendable and he thanked them for it. He said, we don’t have competition with any party, people of Banihal are with Azad and we will sweep the entire Chenab region.
