JAMMU, May 5: Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Inder Singh Soodan from Ward Number 44 here today started drain work at lane-1 of Sector-7 in Guru Nanak Nagar.
Drains of the area were in bad shape since long and the locals took the issue to the Councillor Soodan who in turn brought the matter to the notice of JMC authorities which approved the work at an estimated cost of Rs. 28.29 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion the Councillor said that other works of the Ward shall also be taken and completed soon.
He asked the people of his Ward to avoid single use plastic and polythene bags in routine life and help JMC in making Jammu a neat and clean city.
Those present on the occasion were Bhai Kulwant Singh, S. Amolak Singh, S. Mehar Singh, Baljeet Singh, S. Jagjit Singh, Vijay Kumar, S. Surinder Singh, S. Amrik Singh and Ravinder Singh.
