JAMMU, May 7: The four day Art of Living (AoL) workshop ‘Utkarsha Yoga’ concluded at Ved Mandir Bal Niketan and Balika Niketan Amphalla.
The workshop was organized for the inmates of Bal Niketan and Balika Niketan in which 64 children of age group 8-13 years participated.
In the four day workshop children were trained in Yoga, Pranayam, Surya Namaskar and Sudarshan Kriya meditation.
Utkarsha Yoga is also called Art Excel is a meticulously designed programme by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar exclusively for the children.
The children also learned five keys of wisdom. Soft skills such as communication skills, public speaking, mind management, time management, eating and sleeping habits, control over emotions were imparted to the children in a play-way method.
After attending the workshop children shared their experiences and expressed the benefits of meditation and Sudarshan Kriya.
Organizer of the workshop Ajay Kapoor, State Coordinator AoL Bureau of Communications and Projects said that the workshop was conducted by two senior AoL teachers Anju Gupta and Dr. Anuja Jasrotia and assisted by dedicated team of AoL volunteers Anjali, Jogeswar and Rajni.
It was well supported by staff and Warden Munshi Ram of Bal Niketan and lady warden of Balika Niketan.
The last session was attended by management of Bal Niketan and Balika Niketan in which president Suresh Kumar appreciated the efforts of AoL.
