JAMMU, Nov 28: Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (DFSS) today took out a procession from Parade Ground to City Chowk against the rising prices of vegetables.
A large number of workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena assembled at Parade Ground and later took out a procession against inflation under the leadership of Ashok Gupta. Carrying vegetables in their hands, the protestors were raising slogans against the Government.
Addressing the protestors, Gupta stated that UPA 2 in its election manifesto had given a commitment to the people to provide food items at a very nominal rate, but in the current month, the things have happened entirely the opposite way as the prices of vegetables are touching sky.
The cost of tomatoes and capsicum is Rs 80 per kg, lady finger Rs 100, Onion Rs 60, Ginger Rs 120 and Garlic Rs 130, Gupta said, adding the UPA Government has failed to check price rise due to its faulty economic policy.
