KATHUA, May 8: The huge loss of property has taken place when fire engulfed a house at Shiv Puri lane ,Kathua today. The passersby noticed the smoke coming out of the house and informed the local people. The local people informed the fire tender officials and they rushed the spot to douse the fire.
At the time of fire incident, no one was present in the house and short circuit was said to be the cause of the fire.
The fire tender reached on spot timely and controlled the devastating fire. But till that time huge loss of property had taken place. The police is making assessment of loss.
In another fire incident a poor family’s house was reduced to ashes in Pangwal village of Samba district today and a girl who was sleeping inside received serious burn injuries. The family members were outside. The fire spread due to strong wind. The people rushed inside the house and rescued the girl. She was taken to District Hospital Samba where from she was referred to GMC Jammu for treatment.
The injured girl has been identified as Madhu Devi, 18, daughter of Mohan Lal of Pagwal. Later the fire tender reached the spot and controlled the fire. Police has registered case under relevant sections of the law.
