VARANASI, June 19: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Murli Manohar Joshi today alleged that the Centre was misusing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for its political gains.
‘The Ministers at the Centre first involve themselves in corrupt practices and then create hurdles in the CBI probe,’ he told reporter here.
Dr Joshi said the Centre was influencing the CBI and even its ministers made unfavourable remarks about the functioning of the premier investigative agency.
Expressing concern over the detriorating economic condition of the country, the senior BJP leader said some innovative programmes would have to be prepared to improve it.
“As a matter of fact, the very foundation of the world economy is weak and some drastic steps are required to bring in for overall improvement,” he added.
The former Union Minister said the BJP would soon launch a ‘jail bharo’ agitation against the poor economic policies
and price rise spiral in the country.
