NEW DELHI, Nov 29: A Commemorative Postal Stamp was released here today on the occasion of Sashastra Seema Bal(SSB)’s golden jubilee.
SSB celebrates its Golden Jubilee Raising Day on December 20.
The Minister of State for Home R P N Singh released the Postal Stamp and first day cover on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at a function.
The Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Mr Arun Chaudhary was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Singh lauded the role of SSB in guarding the open and porous borders of India with Nepal and Bhutan, maintaining and honouring the tradition of friendly relations with both these countries.
SSB was raised in the year 1963 following the Chinese aggression to create spirit of resistance and nationalism in the border populations against future aggression.
SSB guards 2450 kms international border of India with Nepal and Bhutan.
