DC Jammu conducts extensive tour of border areas

JAMMU, May 10: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa today conducted an extensive tour of Arnia, Suchetgarh, Mandal, Marh and Pargwal to attend the meeting regarding Standing Committee on Security along India-Pakistan border.
During the tour, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the local residents on development issues including construction of bunkers in border areas for public and security forces, data regarding worship places, construction of bridges over nallahs in border areas, land acquisition cases etc.
The local residents apprised the Deputy Commissioner regarding the issues faced by them in day to day life including power and water supply and road connectivity.
The Deputy Commissioner also emphasized on better road connectivity, uninterrupted power and water supply in the border areas to avoid inconvenience to the people of border areas.
She asked the concerned officials to remain vigilant about drone, drug trafficking and other suspicious activities in border areas. She also asked them to register complaint and take strict action the violators.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to the local residents to immediately inform the concerned officials regarding any suspicious activities in their respective areas.
