JAMMU, May 10: Apprehending the Government move to disturb POJK DPs while according land ownership rights to ‘West Pakistani Refugees’ (WPRs) in Jammu and Kashmir, SOS International, today pleaded that PoJK DPs should not be displaced to accommodate West Pak Refugees.
Suspecting that the Govt move may hit the interests of Pak occupied Jammu Kashmir Displaced People, SOS International,- an organization for PoJK DPs has submitted a representation to the J&K Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta in this regard.
In the representation, forwarded by SOS Chairman Rajiv Chuni, the Government has been urged to ensure that the land being given to West Pak Refugees must not stand already allotted to any PoJK DP family and further there should be a rider that the beneficiary West Pak Refugees must not be having possession on piece of land allotted to PoJK DPs or a party to any case of such nature in the court of law.
“We the PoJK DPs appreciate the Government decision of conferring land ownership rights to West Pakistan Refugees and believe that only a displaced person can truly understand the pain of displacement from home and hearth, however, at the time, there are some apprehensions which was want to bring into your kind notice as land of hundreds of PoJK DPs is under illegal possession of West Pak refugees who are tillers since decades,” reads the representation.
The SOS International appealed to the Chief Secy for ensuring that no injustice is done with PoJK DPs while according ownership rights to West Pak Refugees. This can be done by ensuring that ownership of the land being accorded to West Pak Refugees must not be earlier allotted to any PoJK DP.
