MENDHAR, June 19: Sarpanchs and Panchs from fifteen Panchayat Halqas of Block Mendhar today held protest demonstration against the mal-functioning of the BDO office at Block headquarters.
The Sarpanchs alleged that most of the staff members remain absent and the rooms are always seen locked. He said BDO Mendhar has been given the additional charge of Balakote Block and staff taking advantage of the same remains absent. They said the accountant’s room is always found locked. The Sarpanches are facing problems and nobody was there to listen in the office.
They shouted slogans against BDO, ACD Poonch and Director RR and the minister concerned. Later, BDO Mendhar Deepak Dubey rushed to the block office. He assured action to the agitated Panchayat members. The BDO recommended suspension of Accountant Anwar Khan and another employee, Mohd Bashir. He assured them that he will give more time to this block and monitor staff attendance closely in future.
