Rashly driven car hits elder to death

BHADERWAH, May 11: A 58 year-old man, walking towards his home, was allegedly killed by hit of a rashly driven car here today on highway.
Police has claimed to have identified the vehicle involved in hit-run case.
SP Bhaderwah Kameshwar Puri said as police learnt about the body of elder lying in a pool of blood near Senai Bridge, the same was shifted to the hospital.
The deceased was identified as Mir Din, son of Ali Mohd, who lived in village Massri with his wife and children.
“He had been out for some work and was walking back to his village when he was hit by a rashly driven car,” said Kamleshwar Puri SP Bhaderwah.
“We checked the CCTV footage at Bhalla Post 3 km from the spot and identified the vehicle in hit and run case. Multiple teams have been rushed to different locations and the culprit will be arrested soon,” the SP said.
Body of the deceased was brought to SDH Bhaderwah for post-mortem from where after completing legal formalities it was handed over to family members for last rites.
“The deceased had received multiple head injuries which resulted into his on-spot death,” said BMO Bhaderwah, Dr. Mohd Ashraf Kuchay.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigations.
