375 tablets of Schedule H drugs seized

KATHUA, May 11: Kathua Police has continued its war on drugs and approximately 375 tablets of Schedule- H drugs were recovered (without any prescription) at Atal Setu Basohli. The police team acted swiftly and recovered the drugs during routine naka/patrolling in the jurisdictional area of Police Station (PS) Basohli.
Police said a team led by Inspector, Jaswinder Singh, SHO PS Basohli, under the supervision of SDPO Billawar, Arvind Kumar noticed the movement of a suspicious vehicle (Eeco Van) bearing Registration Number JK08J-4646 which was driven by Parvesh Kumar, son of Karnail Chand of Dhar Jhankher, tehsil Basohli, along with his accomplice Govinda, son of Premi of Janu, tehsil Basohli, enrouted from Punjab towards Basohli.
During checking of the vehicle, approximately 375 tablets of Schedule H drugs were recovered “without any prescription” from Govinda’s belongings. The substance was seized on the spot, and the “Drugs and Cosmetics Department” were informed as the matter falls under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Further investigation is underway.
