JAMMU, Nov 29: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is responsible for killing of minority community in Gujarat in 2002 and the victims are still waiting for justice.
This was stated by Harmohinder Singh, State president, J&K Sikh Council during a press conference here today.
He informed that after the Indo-Pak war of 1965, many Sikh families from Punjab and Haryana, which were rehabilitated by then Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri at bordering Kachh area of Gujarat for cultivation of land and safe guards of borders. The big chunk of non cultivated land was leased to them and after their hard work they converted the big ‘banjar’ land into gold mines, he added.
Nowadays the goons of Narendra Modi are bent to evacuate the said Sikh families on one pretext or other and Modi has adopted a criminal silence over the issue, Singh alleged.
“If local BJP unit is really pro Sikh, then they should take up the issues of Sikh community residing in Gujarat including massacre, fake encounters, genocide of Sikhs and PoK refugees in J&K with Narendra Modi, which are still unresolved since decades”, Singh added.
He also asked the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to clear his stand on this issue.
The council condemns the role of Congress during the past 60 years, during which 12,000 Sikhs were killed in Delhi in 48 hours during November 1984, he added.
Singh hoped that the peace loving people of J&K and local unit of BJP will come forward to support their agenda of justice to everybody on humanitarian grounds.
