JAMMU, May 13: Haji Mohd Shafi Haqla, an educationist, philanthropist and politician, father of prominent Gastroentrologist Dr Shoket Choudhary, passed away today after a brief illness.
He retired as Headmaster in 1997 and was presently 84.
He among others is survived by prominent Gastroentrologist of the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu Dr Shoket Choudhary and JKAS officer Mohammad Ashraf Haqla.
He was laid to rest at his native village Dhandkote in Darhal tehsil of Rajouri district.
His Namaz-e-Jinaza was attended by large number of prominent people drawn from all walks of life.
