G20 awareness programme held in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, May 14: An awareness programme was held today in Srinagar to promote the benefits of the G20 summit for the tourism and economic growth of Kashmir.
The event witnessed the participation of local residents, prominent personalities from Kashmir, and distinguished guests. The programme was spearheaded by DDC Khanmoh and a member of the Hajj Committee of India, Er Aijaz Hussain. Manzoor Bhat and Bilal Parray, prominent youth leaders, graced the occasion.
During the event, Er Aijaz Hussain expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recognising the G-20 meetings in Srinagar as a platform that would enhance the global visibility of Kashmir’s tourism potential and showcase its rich art, culture, and heritage. Additionally, he said that the summit would address global challenges related to economic growth, such as finance, trade, infrastructure, investment, energy, employment, corruption eradication, development, agriculture, technology, innovation, and the digital economy.
BJP leader Manzoor Bhat emphasised the positive impact of the G20 event on the local population. He clarified that the ongoing Smart City project in Srinagar was distinct from the G20 event but assured that its completion would be expedited due to the summit. Bhat expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for choosing Kashmir as the host location and highlighted the numerous benefits it would bring to the local community.
