JIIT organizes workshop on “5G and VLSI Education”

NOIDA, May 15: Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida organized a workshop on the theme “5G and VLSI Education: Towards meeting national skill development goals”.
Chief guest of the workshop, Prof TG Sitharam (Chairman AICTE) emphasized the importance of technical education and need for imparting skills which are relevant to the industry. He explained the role of AICTE in promoting and regulating this mission of Government of India.
Prof Sitharam highlighted that the country needs more skilled engineers in the field of 5G and VLSI technology. AICTE chairman also inaugurated the state-of-the-art digital learning centre set up at JIIT.
The event was presided over by Manoj Gaur (Chancellor, JIIT Noida). He shared his vision for the Jaypee University system and highlighted that Jaypee Education System has designated the 2021-2030 as the decade of innovation and described several measures taken up to achieve the goal.
During the function, JIIT also declared the introduction of new programmes on 5G and VLSI technology wherein many prominent industry experts were present as the guests of honour.
Prof BR Mehta (Vice Chancellor of JIIT Noida) informed that JIIT is the first university in India to give admission to students on the basis of innovation potential removing the admission barrier based on conventional admission criterion.
The highlights of the event were the inauguration of the newly developed digital learning centre by the Chairman of AICTE followed by the announcement of the plans of JIIT to provide new courses on Advance communication technology and VLSI technology. C
Prof Shweta Srivastava, Dean (Academics and Research) and HoD of ECE, JIIT mentioned that the Institute is committed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge required to excel in the field of 5G and VLSI technology.
The discussions and technical talks by Dr Sachin Agrawal (Sony Research India), Praveen Kumar (ST Microelectronics), Ashish Bhardwaj (Synopsys), Taranjit Singh Kukal (Cadence Design Systems), Manish Kumar (NXP Semiconductors), Bharat Rajesh (Tech Mahindra), Pankaj Wadhera (Nokia Solutions & Networks India) and Abhay Vaish (Ericsson India) provided insights into the latest trends and advancements in 5G and VLSI technology.
