JAMMU, May 15: All Parties United Morcha (APUM) today celebrated the victory of Congress Party in Karnataka, in a meeting in Jammu and decided to carry on the message of unity in every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir to defeat the communal, divisive and opportunist forces.
Congratulating the Congress leadership at the Centre and in the State and expressing gratitude to the people of Karnataka for rejecting the communal and divisive agenda of the opportunist BJP, the leaders of prominent opposition parties said that people of Karnataka have given a verdict of change in the country in the forthcoming general elections. The people have voted for the positive agenda of development welfare and employment against price rise and corruption and rejected the vote bank politics of ruling BJP.
The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Abdul Rehman (Ex-MP) and attended by Ravinder Sharma (Chief Spokesperson JKPCC), Rattan Lal Gupta (Provincial president, NC), Manish Sawhney – president Shiv Sena Udhav Bal Thakrey (JKUBT), senior IDP leader ID Khajuria (Convenor APUM), Virinder Singh Sonu (PDP), Narinder Khajuria (IDP ), Com. Hari Singh (CPM), Vikas Bakshi (UBT), S Narinder Singh Khalsa (Akali Dal A) and others.
Sweets were distributed on the occasion to celebrate the victory. The APUM congratulated the Congress leadership for the landslide victory and effectively countering and defeating the opportunist agenda of BJP, starting from Bharat Jodo Yatra, till culmination of elections. The BJP attempt to polarize the atmosphere and hijack the elections, were defeated by the people of Karnataka, who have shown the way forward to the countrymen for the forth coming general elections.
The meeting felt that BJP is delaying Assembly elections in the JKUT because the party sees the writings on the wall, as BJP will face a humiliating defeat in J&K as and when elections are held. The people are totally fed up with the policies and programmes of BJP and has left the people at the mercy of irresponsible and non-responsive bureaucratic regime with the resources of J&K opened for the loot of outsiders while locals are without jobs and business prospects. The unemployment is on the peak in J&K. The people are being heavily taxed while the price rise is on the peak.
The people of J&K want early elections to the state assembly under statehood, for which the opposition parties shall unitedly fight and struggle for restoration of democracy.
