Two smugglers held, 7 bovine animals rescued

KISHTWAR, May 16: Police here today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued seven bovine animals and arrested two smugglers involved in the crime from Chatroo area.
On a special tip SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal constituted a special team of cops from Police Station Chatroo led by Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday and assisted by PSI Moin Khan under the supervision of Dy.SP DAR Sajjad Khan.
The team laid a Naka at Thalaran and Khanpora and during checking rescued three bovine animals at Thalaran and four at Khanpora and arrested two bovine smugglers who were in the process of taking these animals towards Kashmir valley without any valid permission.
In this connection, a case in FIR No. 33/2023 and 34/2023 under relevant section of law stands registered at Police Station Chatroo and investigation taken up.
