Srinagar, May 17: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), under the supervision of Director, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, today carried out an Emergency Medical Service (EMS) mock drill to evaluate the readiness of healthcare facilities ahead of the G20 Summit events.
The drill, closely supervised by the Director, took place at the DHSK Main Office in Bemina. A simulated run was conducted from the DHSK office to SKIMS Soura and Kashmir Nursing Home to assess their preparedness.
During the mock drill, medical professionals, paramedics, drivers, and critical care ambulances were strategically positioned at various locations to ensure effective response and readiness at the designated venues.
Following the conclusion of the drill, the director expressed confidence in the Directorate’s arrangements for the upcoming G20 Summit, which will witness the participation of delegates from around the world. He emphasized that all necessary preparations have been made to provide efficient healthcare services during this historic event in Kashmir.
Before the drill, officials were instructed to ensure that all healthcare arrangements were in a state of preparedness.
A DHSK PRO said that the exercise aimed to identify any potential gaps in the existing system and facilitate their improvement.
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Health Services has taken proactive measures and made all necessary arrangements at multiple locations to meet any unforeseen circumstances that may arise during the event.
