3 arrested for illegal mining, vehicles seized

Srinagar, May 17: Acting tough against persons involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, the police today arrested three persons and seized their vehicles in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police party, led by In-charge PP Delina under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Sajjad Bukhari, seized three vehicles (two dumpers, one excavator) and arrested three persons for the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Singhpora Baramulla, the police said.
They have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Majeed Mir, resident of Malmapanpora Sopore, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Sultan Bhat, resident of Hathlanga Sopore, and Balwinder Singh, son of Brij Lal Singh, resident of Narayanpur Pathankot.
Accordingly, the police said that a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Baramulla, and further investigation has been initiated.
