POONCH, May 18: District Development Commissioner Yasin M. Choudhary today conducted an extensive tour of Block Mandi, Sultanpathri, Battalkote Ziarat and other adjoining areas to inspect ongoing developmental works.
During the tour, the Deputy Commissioner paid obeisance at Ziarat Battalkot amid the annual Urs. He met with the managing committee members of the shrine to discuss the developmental scenario of the area.
In the next leg of the visit, he visited Sultanpathi and took stock of the existing tourist facilities in the area. He directed the concerned officer to develop tourist infrastructure in the area and emphasized the need to preserve the natural beauty and cultural heritage by promoting sustainable tourism.
The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the local residents and listened to their grievances.
Later, he inspected the Sports Stadium, Bridges, and Roads en-route Chandak to Mandi and stressed on maintaining quality and completing the works within the timeline.
The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officers to complete the double-lane motorable bridge in Mandi before the annual Amarnath yatra. He also inspected the Middle School Danna and directed the Education Department to identify the suitable land for school building. He directed to shift the school to a private building till the new building was ready. He asked the concerned officer to submit a report within a week’s time.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the motorable bridge being constructed by PWD at Makhiwala in Loran and directed for its early completion. He further inspected the Bangantarian KGBV Land and passed directions to the education department to prepare DPR and submit the same.
To further improve the power scenario, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated an additional 3.15MVA power transformer at Receiving Station Loran installed under DDC Capex augmenting the total capacity to 2×(3.15)MVA. DDC Member Loran Riyaaz Bashir Naaz was also present on the occasion.
