Construct Sarsu-Dhandal road

I want to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the deplorable condition of Sarsu-Dhandal road. As the road is traffic unworthy, it causes great inconvenience to people living in Dhandal and adjoining area. The 25 kms road from Doda city has never been taken care of by the administration despite so many pleas to the authorities in this context. One does not know, how long the people here have to wait before it is constructed.
In is therefore once again requested to the authorities to get this road constructed at the earliest to relieve the people of agony.

Expedite work on Thatli-Saddal,
Kandoli bridges
The Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Udhampur through a notice ‘Fresh E-NIT No: 147 Dated: 12-02-2013 had invited tenders from the approved eligible contractors for the construction of two motorable steel girder bridges 20.00 and 18.00 mtr spans over Nallahs Thatli-Saddal (8th KM) and Kandoli (21st KM) respectively on Kainthgal-Bamhag road in block Panchari, District Udhampur. The tenders were opened on 01-03-2013and the work was allotted to a contractor. The time specified was six months. But surprisingly and unfortunately, what to talk completion of bridges, even after the lapse of such a long time of months together the work has not been started so far at the sites. In this context the Executive Engineer PWD, R&B, Udhampur vide his letter No: I-8/6578-80 dated 22-07-2013 to my RTI query has replied. “The work of both the bridges already stands allotted to the contractor….vetting of drawings under process….The project of bridges shall be started as the contractor gets the drawings of bridges approved from the Director Design Directorate Jammu.”
In the light of these facts is is to narrate here painfully that the pressing demand to have motorable bridges’ provision over the hilly nallahs is infact decades and decades old. The poor and hapless people, pedestrians as well, travelling in vehicles face inexplicable hardships an extreme risk to their precious life while crossing over the ferocious and roaring nallahs. Particularly, during monsoons and winters the heavy rains/snow falls, even little too, cause havoc over there. The traffic gets hampered and the life becomes virtually hell for the hillites. Every essential service gets disconnected and paralyzed. About 80 or more km long Udhampur-Moungri-Khourgali single lane, bad conditioned and never maintained road becomes completely useless for all purposes.
After too long and relentless struggle, that still is going on vigorously, the process at last reached the work allotment in March 2013. But the desired ground level construction work yet seems far far away i.e. a distant dream. The cherished project is being delayed now in the name of “Vetting of drawings.”One hopes the Department takes it to completion stage at the earliest.

Water scarcity hits Patoli Magotrian

We, the residents of Patoli Magotrian, Ward No. 39 have been facing acute difficulties of drinking water for quite some time. Water has become entirely scarce in our Mohalla with the result that the residents have to walk about half a kilometer to fetch a bucket of water. This state of things has been causing enormous physical and mental distress to us over a long period of time. Our difficulties are compounded further by the sweltering head of the summer season and winter cold. We, have already brought this problem to the notice  of Chief Engineer and for the last ten years we have approached the concerned office a number of times alongwith the Corporator. We were told that the pipe and other infrastructure stands sanctioned for the purpose. However, nothing has been done in this regard on ground till now.

Plea to Chairman J&K Bank
J&K Bank, is making strides of progress in monetary management and has opened its all over the world while the net profit has increased considerably.
Last year like other well established Banks, it has made a proposal that there shall be on line payment of electricity bills through credit, debit system from consumers Saving Accounts from April 2013, but it is still lying mthslimbo, causing a great inconvenience to senior citizens and females to stand in long queues for more than an hour to pay their electricity bills.
Now it is once again prayed that the Chief Minister may intervene and instruct all the branches of J&K Bank, being fully computerised to issue a circular informing all the consumers to pay on line electricity bills to save precious  lives from such tragic accidents, from Jan 2014, so that infirm, aged and females shall heave a sigh of relief.

Give face lift to Leh town
This is to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards unhygienic conditions in  Leh town. Almost all streets are strewn with litter as no cleaning takes place on daily basis. Though there is no stink now due to cold, but once cold subsides in summer, it becomes unbearable to walk through streets.
Besides, Leh is visited by a good number of tourists every year. The insanitary conditions in town are quite disgusting for them. It is requested to the Leh administration to give a face lift to the town by launching cleanliness drives on regular basis. There is also great need to sanitise people about this issue. When administration and people work together for this cause,  it  will change the complexion of the town.
