JAMMU, May 18: Gandhi Nagar Police today apprehended a drug peddler with 32 kilogram of Poppy straw.
“A team of Police Station Gandhi Nagar while on patrolling duty at main road of Shamshan Ghat, Shastri Nagar rounded up one suspect and on search, recovered 32 kg of Poppy straw hidden in two plastic bags from his possession,” A Police spokesman said.
He said a case FIR Number 120/2023 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and the accused identified as Gursewak Singh son of Dara Singh, resident of Baba Bakala (Amritsar, Punjab) arrested.
Further investigation of the cases was going on, he added.
