IEDs, pistol seized in Mendhar

JAMMU, May 18: Army and Special Operations Group (SOG) today busted a terror hideout and seized explosive materials at village Kasbalari near Kagyan Mohalla in Mankote tehsil of Mendhar area in Poonch district.
A search operation was launched by the 39 Rashtriya Rifles and the Special Operations Group in the Kasbalari area during which the Army’s sniffer dogs detected some suspicious Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other materials from a hideout, the official sources said.
Recoveries include two IEDs weighing 10 kilograms, one Chinese pistol, one hand grenade and two detonators.
The explosive materials were destroyed by a Bomb Disposal Squad. The IEDs were destroyed in the presence of the village Sarpanch and other prominent persons of the area.
