JAMMU, May 19: M.K. Yogi Prabhari Kashmiri displaced people, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and senior KP leader has expressed grave concern over the failure of the Government in redressing the problems of the displaced Pandits from Valley.
Addressing a meeting his party activists, here, today Yogi said that successive governments during last 33 years did not take any initiative in honourable and dignified rehabilitation of displaced people in Valley by fulfilling their geo political aspirations.
He said the problems of these hapless people are compounding day by day and instead of solving them the Government is adding to their woes. Yogi alleged that Government failed to enhance the cash relief to migrants for last over five years while the over aged youth of the community are worst sufferers as no steps have been taken to create avenues of livelihood for them.
Yogi said instead of solving the problems of displaced people and restoring their land and other left out properties to them, the Government has issued orders for recovery of power tariff from the migrants living in camps and demanded that the decision be revoked immediately failing which AAP will be constrained to launch agitation.
Meanwhile, All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) in a letter to Prime Minster, Narendra Modi has sought his immediate intervention in settling the long pending demands of the displaced Pandits.
In his letter to PM, AIMCCC president, Desh Rattan said that Kashmir Pandits had pinned high hopes in present dispensation. The community had full faith and high hope that it would get justice under the present regime but it’s all hopes have been dashed to ground.
Pandita said issuing orders to recover electricity tariff from the camp inmates who are totally dependent on meagre cash doles from Government to keep their body and soul together has betrayed the community. Instead of taking steps for rehabilitating the KPs in Kashmir the Government day in and day out was adding to their problems. He sought immediate intervention of PM in resolving the issues of displaced Pandits.
