POONCH, May 19: Local administration here today evicted eight Government quarters occupied by some families in Surankote Tehsil.
Official sources said that notices to these families were served in April by the XEN PWD to vacate the quarters but all of these people failed to do so after which the quarters were evicted by the civil administration with the assistance by police.
Some of the families asked for time to vacate the quarters but the administration didn’t consider that and evicted all quarters forcefully.
Executive Magistrate, Tehsildar Surankote, Akbar Hussain said that these families had failed to vacate the buildings even after getting notice, while the outside employees serving in Surankote were residing in rented accommodations.
“That is why the higher authorities issued order to evict all these families and all other occupied quarters shall also be evicted soon,” he added.
