Red Cross Society holds awareness programme

JAMMU, May 19: Indian Red Cross Society Jammu Region organized a ‘First-Aid and Drug-Addiction & De-Addiction’ awareness programme at British International School Sainik Colony, here today.
The awareness programme was organized for the School faculty members and students.
Dr. Asia Noor, Medical Officer along with Kanchan Devi, Sup. Pharmacist, Ravi Kant Magotra, Pharmacist trained the staff and students regarding the ABC of First-Aid, Traumas, Bleeding and types of bandages, practical demonstration on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and transportation of injured persons etc. Besides this, the main focus of today’s event was on drug intake and its repercussions.
The awareness programme was conducted under the close supervision of Sat Pal Sharma, honorary secretary, IRCS Jammu Region. He addressed the School faculty members and students and made them aware about repercussions of drug intake.
He further added, “We should focus on affordable and qualitative treatment for those who are already ensnared by addiction.”
