JAMMU, May 20: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha today organized a function in the premises of the Sabha near Parade to honour various trade Bazar Association and Artists, who took part in celebration of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti last month with high fervor and gaiety.
The function was presided over by the President of DBPS Ved Parkash Sharma, while Rajinder Sharma, Mayor JMC was the chief guest. The programme started with chanting of Vedic Mantras and Shalokas with the application of Tikka to all participants.
Speaking on the occasion, senior member of the Sabha Advocate P C Sharma and others speakers threw light on the life of Bhagwan Parsuram and Sanatam Dharma.
The representatives of Moti Bazar, Pacca Danga Chowk Chabutra, Jain Bazar, Lower Jain Bazar, Link Road, Purani Mandi, Old Hospital Road, Super Bazar, Kanak Mandi, Rajinder Bazar, Residency Road, Ragunath Bazar, Raj Tilak Road Bazar, Parade Bazar Associations and some eminent artists of Shri Sanatan Dharam Natak Samaj Dewan Mandir under the supervision of Sat Paul Sharma and others, were honoured by presenting trophies.
Among those who were present on the occasion includes, L D Shastri, Pt V M Magotra, N C Sharma, M L Sharma, Satyanand Sharma, Chander Mohan Sharma Advocate, Subash Shastri, B S Jamwal, Ritiz Khajuria, Shiv Ram Sharma, Jagan Nath Sharma, Devinder Sharma (Baboo), Rajesh Bargotra, Sat Pal Sharma, M L Padha, Brita Ram, K L Sharma, Jagdish Dogra, Sarpanch Kishore, Girdhari Lal, Rama Sharma, Surinder Sharma Corporator, Narotam Sharma Corporator, Ramesh Sharma, Anita Sharma Corporator beside President Hiranagar Brahman Sabha along with representative of Udhampur, Reasi, Ramnagar, Sunderbani, Poonch, Nowshera, R S Pura, Samba & Kathua.
The function ended with the vote of thanks by Sojanaya Sharma, former JMC Commissioner.
