Two bovines rescued

JAMMU, May 20: Bishnah Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued two bovine animals.
“A team of police station Bishnah while on naka duty at Mehnoodpur (Bishnah) signalled to stop one vehicle bearing registration number JK02CX-9770 on suspicious ground but the driver of vehicle did not stop at naka point and instead accelerated the vehicle,” Police sources said.
“However, the alert naka team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Vikram Sharma chased the vehicle. The driver stopped the vehicle at a short distance and taking advantage of distance fled away from the spot,” they added.
Sources said during checking of the vehicle, 4 bovine animals without any permission was found loaded in it in a cruel and merciless manner. “In this regard, a case under FIR Number 121/2023 U/S 188 IPC,11 PCA Act,50,52,54,56 Transportation of Animals of Rules of 1978 was registered in this connection at Police Station Bishnah and further investigation started.
