SRINAGAR, Dec 2: Vigilance Organisation after obtaining necessary sanctions from the concerned competent authorities today presented challan against Rafiqa of Karfali Mohalla Haba Kadal Srinagar, the then Junior Assistant Tehsil Social Welfare Office Chadoora and Manzoor-ul-Haq of Kalwal Mohalla Rainawari Srinagar the then Associate Executive (Manager) of J&K Bank Chadoora, before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Kashmir.
During the investigation of the case, it surfaced that in the year 2006-2007, the accused public servants by abuse of their official positions hatched a criminal conspiracy and by falsification of accounts misappropriated public money to the tune of Rs.16,14,651 which was otherwise meant for widows, handicapped and old aged persons listed with Tehsil Social Welfare Office, Chadoora. Prima-facie offences under Section 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act, 2006 and Section 409, 468, 471, 491, 120-B RPC was established against them.
