POONCH, May 22: A villager was injured when three bears attacked him in Bedar area of Mandi in Poonch district today.
Family members of the victim said that at about 6:35 AM in the morning he went to wash face at a spring nearby his house where one among three bears attacked him. After hearing his cries the family members and villagers rushed to the spring with lathis and rescued him.
The injured was brought to Sub District Hospital Mandi and later shifted to district hospital Poonch for better treatment.
The injured was identified as Mumtaz Hussain (50), son of Wazir Mohd, a resident of Bedar Panchayat in block Mandi.
Medical Superintendent DH Poonch, Dr Zulfiqar said that patient was seriously injured, he has been kept under observation after treatment here.
