The function was presided over by Prof. Lalit Magotra, president Dogri Sanstha and conducted by Rajeshwar Singh ‘Raju’.
It is pertinent to mention here that Jiten Thakur is a well known name in Hindi literature and he has carved a niche for himself with thought provoking short stories and novels that include one poetry collection, eight collections of short stories and four novels in addition to several short stories that have been published in all representative literary newspapers and magazines like Dharamyug, Sarika, Hans, Outlook etc.
During interaction, Jiten Thakur talked at length about his association with celebrated writers like Dharamveer Bharti, Kamleshwar, Sharad Joshi and others.
He felt sorry that although he did write and still writes in Dogri but as he was so much involved in Hindi literature and lives at Dehradun, he could not contribute to Dogri literature to an extent he wished to. But he has a belonging for his soil and will surely contribute much more in Dogri.
On this occasion he presented his widely acclaimed short story ‘Kitab’ from his collection of short stories ‘Gumshuda’ and a few anecdotes from his autobiography ‘Jugnuon Ke Mele.
The program was attended by a galaxy of prominent litterateurs and literature lovers.
