JAMMU, May 24: Brigadier Anil Gupta, the spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has called upon the people of India to stand against the opposition parties who have chosen to boycott the inauguration of the majestic new Parliament House.
Gupta expressed his disappointment at the politicization of this historic event, emphasizing that the opposition’s reasons for boycotting are unfounded attempts to discredit the Government and overshadow the nation’s assertion of independence and self-reliance.
He pointed out that the boycott has been orchestrated primarily by the Congress party, which originally proposed the idea of a new Parliament building.
However, he stated that the credit for its realization rightfully belongs to the Modi Government.
“Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, the Government completed the construction in less than 30 months, demonstrating its commitment to timely and efficient execution,” Gupta said.
He said the concept, design, interior, and architecture of the new building are distinctly Indian, serving as a fitting gift to commemorate 75 years of independence and catering to future needs.
He also highlighted the composition of the parties participating in the boycott, suggesting that their motivations are driven by personal and political interests.
Gupta asserted that these parties, many of which are plagued by corruption charges and internal divisions, harbor ambitions of assuming power and reverting to the old ways of running the government for personal gains. He cautioned that they may even seek foreign intervention or collaborate with forces inimical to national interests to achieve their objectives.
He challenged the sincerity of their claims of upholding the Constitution, questioning why they do not resign en masse if they feel so strongly about perceived insults.
He labelled their actions as tools of deceit, utilizing misinformation campaigns and toolkits to undermine the trust of the Indian people. He further warned that if these parties were to come to power, their inherent contradictions and lack of a common ideology would lead to their swift downfall.
