REASI, May 24: A 6th class student ended his life by hanging himself at his house in village Ikhni Kotla, tehsil Pouni, here today.
Police said that 11-year old Manveer Singh, son of Pishori Singh, resident of Ikhni, Kotla tehsil Pouni in district Reasi, was found hanging when no other family member was present in the house.
Reports said that in absence of both father and mother, the minor hanged himself with a nylon rope. Mother spotted her child hanging when she reached home.
On being informed, a Police party from Police Station Ransoo, led by SHO Rakesh Bamba, reached the spot and shifted the dead body to PHC Pouni for postmortem.
Cause of provocation to end life by hanging could not be ascertained while parents of the deceased child said that a day earlier they were discussing a case of suicide by a minor at Khwas and their son Manveer was also listening to them.
Family members as well as Police are suspecting that the minor might have tried to practice the experience of hanging and in the process ended his life.
