5 vehicles, 16 bovines seized, 9 arrested

RAJOURI, Dec 3: Kalakote police foiled a major attempt of the smugglers to transport 16 bovine animals to Kashmir valley via Mughal Road and arrested nine persons in this connection besides seizure of five Tata Mobile vehicles early today.
Reports said a police party led by SHO Kalakote, Vikram Parihar under the supervision of SP Nowshera Parshotam Sharma intercepted five Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration numbers JK-11/2475, JK-02AR/8563, JK-11/2215, JK02AN/4780 and JK02AK/0692 near Kalakote during wee hours today and found 16 bovine animals loaded in them. The vehicles were on way to Kashmir Valley via Mughal Road.
The police seized all the five vehicles along with animals and arrested nine persons in this connection. They were identified as Nissar Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid, Mohd Aziz, son of Dil Mohd, residents of Badoon in Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Manzoor Hussain, resident of Mawa in Sunderbani, Riaz Ahmed, son of Gul Mohd, resident of Manjakote, Nawaj Khan, son of Barkat Hussain of Kalakote, Puran Singh, son of Krishan Singh of Akhnoor, Kulbhushan, son of Bhagwan Dass of Palma Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain, son of Mohd Alam of Dhanodhar and Parvez , son of Mohd Shabir, resident of Dhanidhar, Rajouri. They have been booked under FIRs No. 84, 85, 86, 88/ 2013.
