KVIB organizes seminar on PMEGP

JAMMU, Dec 3: J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) organized one day seminar on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) at ITI here today.
The programme was inaugurated by Secretary/CEO J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board Mir Afroz, in which discussion was held between students of ITI and the officers of KVIB.
The seminar was also attended by the officers from Industries, Agriculture, Employment and counseling centre, Lead District Manager (SBI), Deputy Director Technical Education, senior officers of KVIB and also a number of ITI students.
A brain storming discussion was held during the session of the seminar and the District Officer, KVIB detailed in depth about the PMEGP and other various schemes and the incentives being provided under the programme.
Mir Afroz informed that KVIB usually organizes such seminars and awareness camps to make the students and other unemployed youths well acquainted with the PMEGP scheme being implemented by the board and prepare them for establishing their own income generating units.
He added that in such seminars students who are averse in establish their own units fearing their failure are cleared of all the doubts and are assured of hand holding by the KVIB for their sustainability.
Deputy CEO, KVIB, Jammu Division highlighted the operational modalities of the implementation of the scheme and its various features. The other officers from the allied department also spoke on the occasion.
The printing material describing the schemes in details was also distributed among the students.
