Natrang presents 2 shows of Mind Games

Artists in action as Natrang stages Mind Games in Jammu on Tuesday.

Jammu, Dec 3: Natrang today created a history in Jammu by presenting back to back two shows of the play ‘Mind Games’ without break here at the auditorium of Women College Parade These shows of the play were sponsored by Simula Infra.
Mr. Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu was the chief guest during the first show while Rani Billowria MLC was the chief guest during the second show. Earlier welcoming the guests Natrang Director, Balwant Thakur dwelt in detail about the mission of Natrang in revolutionizing the cultural and theatre scene of the region. He said that with meaningful plays Natrang wants to bring in altogether a new change in the mindset of the younger generations by inculcating positivity through theatre. He expressed the gratitude to Dr. Hemla Agarwal for extending full cooperation and support in holding of these shows.
Both the chief guests Shantmanu and Rani Billowria in their respective speeches appreciated Natrang endeavors and assured all possible help in their mission. Jam-packed audiences repeatedly applauded and enjoyed the performances.
‘Mind Games’is a very innovative and experimental play which has been Conceived, Written & Directed by Sumeet Sharma, a Post Graduate in Dramatics and recipient of SNA’s Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for Theatre Direction. The play has already received much appreciation in various National Festivals from the audience and critics as well.
The play ‘Mind Games’ unveils a very common, unconscious and continuous practice of all human beings, chatting with Mind and creating baseless abstract stories all the times, which give rise to thoughts which when nurtured become attitude and eventually shape our behavior and personality causing success or failure.
Sumeet Sharma played the central character of the play ‘Ajeet’ with professional ease and exhibited his versatility as an actor. Gaurav Jamwal as ‘Krish’ was also very impressive. Vineet Sharma as ‘Simran’ did a notable performance. Pawan Verma as ‘Boss’and Rahul Singh as ‘Kumar’ also received appreciation from the audience. Others who participated in the play included Mohd Yaseen, Uplaksh Singh Kotwal, Shivam Manhas, Mihikshit Singh, Pankaj Verma, Syed Mudassir, Sakshi Prakash, Shifali Gupta, Avisha Khajuria, Archita Sharma and Shekhar Sharma. Lights were executed by Suraj Ganjoo and the Music was rendered by Mohd. Yaseen and Pawan Verma. The presentations were done by Shimona Chib and the show was coordinated by Dr. Kuldeep Swdeshi.
