Protest against negligent death

KATHUA, May 27: The family members of a young woman ransacked the Associated Hospital of Government Medical College, Kathua after the death of a woman in GMC Kathua this morning.

The irate family members in protest broke the window and glasses of Hospital when they came to know that the woman has died.
The deceased was identified as Shakuntla Devi. wife of Dayal Singh resident of Logate Morh.
The family said that the woman was admitted in hospital on May 24. Last night her condition deteriorated. The family called doctor as the condition of patient worsened. The family alleged that no doctor responded to their request and came to examine the patient. Only medical assistant was sent for examination.
The woman died in the morning. The family lodged a strong protest against what they called the negligence of doctors and ransacked the Hospital. A police team reached on the spot to pacify the situation and controlled the irate family members.
It is pertinent to mention that the number of such negligent death cases is increasing day by day in GMC Kathua and mostly people have demanded fair enquiry into matter to punish the erring medical staff.
