SRINAGAR, May 28: Police in Kulgam today arrested 4 gamblers and seized stake money amounting to Rs 46 thousand from their possession.
Acting on specific information regarding gambling activities in the jurisdiction of Police Post Mirbazar, a police party headed by Incharge PP Mirbazar raided the suspected gambling site at Furrah and apprehended four gamblers on the spot.
“They have been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Lone of Bashir Ahmad Lone resident of Malpora, Javed Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Amin Mir resident of Furrah, Nisar Ahmad Khanday son of Ghulam Ahmad Khanday and Imtiyaz Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Aziz Wani both residents of Zadoora,” police said.
As per police, officers have seized stake money of Rs. 46,000/- 4 mobile phones and a set of playing cards from their possession. “They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.”
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 93/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police station Qazigund and an investigation has been taken up.
