Theft case solved, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, May 29: Police in Jammu’s Miran Sahib Area claimed to have successfully solved a theft case, leading to the recovery of stolen items.
As per a police spokesperson, one Shamsher Lal, resident of Kotli Mian Fateh in Tehsil R.S Pura, Jammu, filed a complaint reporting the theft of iron gardeners and iron sheets from his residence.
Promptly responding to the complaint, the police spokesperson said, the Miran Sahib Police Station registered a case FIR number106/2023 under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and initiated a thorough investigation.
Led by Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, he said, the police teams from PS Miran Sahib, under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, Nikhil Gogna, pursued the case.
Employing meticulous efforts and leveraging the assistance of CCTV footage from the area, the police finally apprehended three suspects, said the police spokesperson.
The individuals were identified as Kulwinder Singh, Surinder Choudhary, and Deepak Kumar, all residents of Darsopur in Tehsil R.S Pura, Jammu.
“During the subsequent search operations, the police recovered a significant cache of stolen items from the suspects’ possession,” he said.
The recovered items include 22 stolen iron gardeners and 7 stolen iron sheets, with an estimated value of INR 120,000.
Additionally, a load carrier auto with registration number JK02CX-4630, which was employed in the commission of the theft, was also seized.
Police have launched further investigations.
