JAMMU, Dec 4: In a contempt petition filed by Haq Nawaz against Principal Secretary Home & others seeking implementation of judgment whereby High Court had directed State to consider his out of turn promotion to the post of DySP with effect from 1998, High Court today directed the Principal Secretary Home to appear before the court to explain his position.
After hearing Advocate W S Nargal for the petitioner whereas Senior AAG Gagan Basotra for the State, Justice Virender Singh observed, “it appears that Principal Secretary Home is taking the instant case in a very causal manner”. The High Court directed him to cause his appearance before the Court to explain his position for non-compliance of the judgment so that instant contempt petition is brought to the logical end at the earliest.
The High Court directed the Registry to list this case again in the week commencing December 23, 2013.
